Description
Dragon-like creature from Maryland folklore, particularly Frederick County. Described with metal beak, sharp teeth, wings, tentacles. German settlers in 1700s told of 'Schneller Geist' (quick spirit). Made newspaper headlines in early 1900s. One account claims it died in vat of moonshine during Prohibition.
