Description
Dark wolf-like creature from Montana frontier folklore. One allegedly shot in 1886 by rancher Israel Ammon Hutchins and mounted. Taxidermied creature was on display for years before disappearing. Described as resembling hyena with high shoulders and sloping back. Mounted specimen rediscovered in 2007 showed unusual wolf-like creature. Native Americans had stories of similar creature.
